Shandoni Ranch Horse Boarding and Overnight Horse Motel - Elverta, CA
We have a lovely 40 acre facility. We board horses, take in overnight/traveling horses, give riding lessons/ put on horse shows/horse sales. Shandoni Ranch was opened in 1975 by Doreen and her family. She has had the assistance of daughters Marcy Irwin, Shelley Benner (who now owns and runs a Hunter/Jumper Stable in Salisbury, MD) her son Ken Irwin.
Over many years, Doreen has given lessons to hundreds of riding students. Many of them have become professional trainers and judges. She has owned, trained, bred and sold many horses of her own and for others. Now she is raising her own special horses. All of her sale horses have been born at Shandoni Ranch and handled and trained by Doreen.
A lifelong dedicated horsewoman, Doreen Irwin has bred and developed numerous young horses to become lovely show horses consistently winning in pleasure, hunters and jumpers in local and rated shows.
Doreen takes fabulous care of the horses and trains her foals with professionalism and firmness that lends to their later success under saddle.
