Jenn Chen - Professional Large Dog Photographer - San Francisco, CA
Documentary Lifestyle Outdoor Large Dog Photographer.
As a passionate pet photographer with 12+ years of photography experience, I specialize in capturing the unique personalities and soulful connections between you and your dogs.
My Pup & Me sessions are tailored for art-appreciating dog parents who value the everyday moments, bringing them to life through my documentary and lifestyle photography style. Sessions take place on-location and outdoors, such as at a park, in a forest, or on a city sidewalk. With a commitment to warm, natural, and colorful editing, I craft images that highlight your dog's silly and lovable personality while cementing memories into custom wall art.
I am insured, highly organized, and calm, ensuring a seamless experience for both you and your fur babies. While I welcome dogs of all sizes, I have a particular fondness for medium to large dogs, rescue pups, bully breeds, and those with behavioral issues like reactivity and anxiety. My dedication to the canine community extends beyond my sessions as I volunteer my photography services for adoption photos with foster dogs at California Bully Rescue in the San Francisco Bay Area.

How did you hone your craft?
I've been a branding & lifestyle photographer for 12+ years. After volunteering my services to a rescue group for a year, I realized how much I love doing outdoor documentary sessions. My sessions and style are formed from what I couldn't find: colorful, natural, soulful, documentary, and low-stress photo sessions.
What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?
Patience and learning how to read body language goes a long way in understanding dogs.
What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!
From personal experience with my own dog, it is absolutely possible to photograph dogs who have anxiety or reactivity. There may be a longer get-to-know-you period at the beginning of a session—but all dogs deserve to be loved, regardless of their history.
