Anne understands the unique and deep bond that develops between people and their companion animals. Our pets are often our family and when we lose them through death, or other means, we may feel overwhelming sadness and wonder how we can go on. When we come to the complex and difficult decision to have our pet euthanized, although we are actually helping them out of suffering, we may experience this process as traumatic and suffer greatly ourselves, replaying our last moments with our beloved pet over and over again in our mind.

Having these painful and difficult feelings are a part of the grieving process. We grieve to the extent that we have loved. Anne is here to help you through the grieving process. Through listening with kindness and offering suggestions, Anne can help you process and guide you to the other side of your grief, where you are able to focus on the positive memories you made with your companion throughout her/his life, however long that may have been. Of course you will always have a special place in your heart for your beloved pet and miss him or her at times, but the intensity of the missing or grief will be much less and manageable. Grief not only needs time to lessen but also our attention.

Anne has been a mental health counselor for 17 years. She loves animals with all her heart, being grateful each day for the ways they enrich her life and the lives of her clients. Anne currently enjoys the precious time she has with her older pets, Sundae, a cattle dog and her tabby Bubbles.
