How did you hone your craft?

My journey into pet loss grief counseling began with a deep love and respect for the bond between humans and animals, which was profoundly shaped by the loss of my own dog, Molly. That personal experience led me to study grief and loss, and gave me the tools to support others experiencing similar heartbreak. I honed my craft though specialized training, ongoing professional development, and by listening closely to the unique stories of my clients. Each interaction has deepened my understanding of the diverse ways people process and heal from the loss of a beloved animal companion.

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?

One of the most important things I have learned is to honor the individuality of each animal. Just as humans have unique personalities, so do animals, and they thrive when their specific needs, quirks and preferences are respected. Building a relationship rooted in patience, understanding and presence not only strengthens the bond but also creates a foundation for lasting memories that can provide comfort and joy, even after they are gone.

What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!

I want pet parents to know that I deeply understand the gravity of their loss because I have lived it myself. My work is not only professional but also deeply personal. I bring compassion, empathy and a creative approach to help clients process their grief, celebrate their animal companion's life, and ultimately find a path toward healing.
