Compassionate Pet Loss & Grief Support - Certified CPLP - Nationwide
Are you facing the heartbreaking reality of saying goodbye to your beloved pet — or struggling with the emptiness after their passing? 💔 As a Certified Pet Loss & Grief Counselor, I provide compassionate, understanding support to pet parents nationwide, offering both virtual and in-person sessions. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone — I’m here to help you honor your pet, process your grief, and find comfort during this difficult time.
With more than 16 years of experience supporting pet parents, I provide structured, empathetic guidance through both anticipatory grief and post-loss healing. Whether you are preparing for euthanasia, coping with unexpected loss, experiencing guilt or regret, or helping children process the death of a cherished companion, I offer steady, understanding support tailored to your unique situation.
I work with families grieving dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and other beloved companions. Together, we can explore healthy coping tools, meaningful memorial rituals, family communication strategies, and practical steps to honor your pet’s life while caring for your own emotional wellbeing. 🕊️
Sessions are available virtually nationwide, with in-person options where available. My goal is to provide a safe, judgment-free space where your grief is validated and your bond with your pet is honored. If you’re navigating one of the most difficult chapters of loving a pet, I’m here to walk beside you. 🌸
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from a pet loss grief session?
You’ll have a safe, supportive space to express your feelings, share memories of your pet, and explore coping strategies that honor your unique bond. Sessions are guided at your pace — there’s no “wrong” way to grieve. 💛
Is it normal to still feel intense grief months after my pet passed?
Absolutely. Grief doesn’t follow a set timeline. Many pet parents experience waves of sadness, guilt, or longing long after their pet is gone. These feelings are normal, and support can help you navigate them.
How soon should I start counseling after my pet’s loss?
There’s no “right” time. Some start soon after their pet’s passing, while others wait until grief feels heavier. The key is recognizing when you need support — starting earlier can make coping a little gentler.
How do virtual sessions work?
Virtual sessions are conducted via secure video or phone call, so you can access support from the comfort of home, anywhere in the country. We’ll make sure you feel safe, supported, and fully present throughout the session. 💻
What if I’m not sure how I feel or what to say?
That’s completely okay. You don’t need to have the words. Grief support provides guided space to help you explore your emotions, reflect on your bond, and begin gentle healing — even if you’re unsure where to start. 🕊️

By planning ahead and understanding your options in advance of your pet's final goodbye, you can ease some of the stress and truly cherish your last moments together. Pre Pet Loss helps pet owners to pre-plan wishes for burial or cremation as well as share stories about their pet and share how this has impacted the family before the day of passing.
This 4-meeting session (one day a week) is focused on offering pet owners an effective impact for taking action to move through and beyond their grief. These four weeks will allow the griever the chance to say “goodbye” to their relationship with this special pet, thereby making it comfortable to build a relationship with a new pet, if they choose to do so.

How did you hone your craft?
I began my professional career as published author in 2001 after attending Penn State University undergrad in Psychology. I had an innate drive to support others in heartbreak by forming support groups for controlled substance addiction/recovery getting certified as a recovery and grief specialist. When my 1st pet's health declined and passed I felt a deep sense of loss. I decided to help guide others going through lose of a pet and support families from broken hearts and honor their pet passing. I took my passion by gaining my certification as a Pet Loss Specialist and love the work I continue to do everyday.
What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?
Build a Strong Bond: Consistent, gentle interaction, patience, and regular, positive interactions are crucial to developing a strong, trusting relationship with your pet.
What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!
Honoring the memory of family pets and the legacy they left behind has been a deeply fulfilling aspect of my work for the past 16 years. My empathy and sincereity allows individuals to contribute to the memory and legacy of their beloved companions. These reasons highlight the joy and fulfillment that comes from supporting families through the loss of their pets, making it a career choice that is both meaningful and impactful. Noone can feel what another person feels from loss of their own pet; but I have experienced pet heartbreak in my life and understand how difficult it is to loose a beloved family companion.
