Name: Quetzal
Animal: Dog
Breed: Boston Terrier
Birthday: July 18, 2012
Spayed, around 15, generally good health except lumbar arthritis, benign mass on her spleen, a little sludge in her bladder but no stones, mild partial tracheal collapse, history of mast cell tumor treated three times but no recurrence in five years. I am pretty sure the back is painful. She has gabapentin and tramadol for use as needed but is not easy to pill and it doesn't tolerate sedation very well. Sedative meds cause her to stagger a bit and I am very worried about an accident. It is the neck tilting to the left and hanging down and the paw being held front and to the side that make me think she might have a pinched nerve in her neck that's making the front left leg weak and the neck painful and weak. Her neck X-ray was normal and her back has moderate arthritis in the lumbar spine. I will be taking her back in between times to see her primary provider to see if the spleen mass has grown and if it has that would be a different situation but we'll know shortly.
