How did you hone your craft?

Run My Dog was started in honor of Charlie, a 130lbs Rottweiler and German Shorthair Pointer mix, who put Marley, in Marley and Me, to shame. Robbyn had no idea what she was getting into. Adopted as a puppy from a rural Iowa shelter, she though he was a 37lbs nine month old. Turns out, three weeks later the vet proclaimed he couldn't be past 20 weeks at 42 lbs. Through their 11 years together, Charlie bought Robbyn an education in training and behavior modification. Due to his size and issues, Robbyn was unable to find a professional dog walker or pet sitter that could handle him. Run My Dog was built to fill that need for all the pet parents with dogs that are just a little "more". We will work with any dog and if we can't, we'll offer advice and professional trainers that can help. We work with the well behaved dogs too!

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?

Your dog is telling you what they need. When we can slow down and observe, we can figure out how to help them through the negative behavior.

What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!

We go the extra mile in training our staff in dog behavior, training, and safety. Robbyn is a CATCH certified dog handler and soon to be certified dog trainer.
