Animal Communication
Our household animal friends always are communicating with us, whether we realize it or not. They try to let us know what is going on with them, but sometimes are unsuccessful. When there is a particular need and the message is not getting through, sometimes the animal will go to extremes, such as breaking toilet training, in order to get our attention.
Animal communication basically is a transfer of energy between the animal and the human. What the animal wants me to know comes in as a thought or a particular sense of knowing. Rarely do I hear actual words, although sometimes that happens.
If you are puzzled by your animal friend’s behavior, perhaps I can be of assistance. Below are two testimonials from past clients (one with cats and one with a dog).
Physical proximity is not necessary for effective communication. In fact, I work best simply from a picture. I like to have an initial phone conversation to get some background, then receive the photo, after which I connect with the animal. If all goes well (and occasionally animals simply don’t want to connect), I then follow up with one or more phone calls to discuss what I discerned.
I would be honored to work with you and your animal companion!
Testimonials:
Four years ago, I adopted a German shepherd puppy who turned out to have a variety of anxiety issues. It seemed as if bonding would never happen, even after I spent a couple of thousand dollars with a canine behaviorist who told me that, out of hundreds he had worked with, my dog was the most difficult one he had ever tried to rehabilitate, and sent him home with only limited results. After working alone with my dog for two more years, I felt discouraged with our slow progress. Then Nancy entered our lives. From her communication with Wolfie, she found that he actually did want to please me, but that I wasn't clearly letting him know what I expected. She also told me that he was picking up on my not letting go of my grief for the service dog I had lost just before I got Wolfie. All this helped me move forward with bonding, research into canine body language, and training. Wolfie and I are now looking forward to a partnership of service to each other. Turns out he's a very special, loving, sensitive fellow, and I might never have known except for Nancy opening the door to his mind.

About 2 years ago, I took in a 5 week old feral kitten. My older cat, who was 8 years old at the time, was having trouble adjusting and bonding to the new kitten. In addition, the formerly feral kitten was having trouble adjusting to her new humans. After a few conversations and photo shares with Nancy, I gained invaluable insights into what my cats may have been feeling and going through. Nancy gave spot-on and specific information and guidance that I was able to apply immediately. Using the advice from Nancy, I was able to facilitate the bonding process and today my girls, although not the best of friends, are happily co-existing and my now 2 year old, is now trusting of her humans and is able to purr and show affection. I can't thank Nancy enough for bringing peace and harmony to our household!

Reiki
Reiki can be very beneficial for animals in numerous situations. It frequently is applied to ease pain or suffering. This could be following surgery or other medical interventions, or in end-of-life situations. Reiki also is helpful for emotional distress: a move, loss of a family member, or in the case of an animal who experiences separation anxiety when the pet parent goes to work or perhaps is planning to go on vacation.
Because animals are very sensitive to energy, Reiki sometimes is most effective given in several short sessions. This can be accomplished easily through distance Reiki, where the animal remains in his/her home environment and the Reiki practitioner sends the Reiki energy remotely. Of course, in-person sessions also are available and can be quite effective.

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?
Always treat your companion with respect. Always explain situations to your animal friend (such as "I have to go away for a few days but I will return soon", or "we're going to have house guests for a few days". If you promise him/her something (such as "I will listen to you"), don't go back on your promise.
