Melanie’s Paws & Claws - West Springfield, VA
I provide a wide range of pet care services with your own pet’s care & needs in mind. I have 20+ years of experience caring for a wide variety of pets.
To date I have obtained 7 different certifications to better understand and care for pets in my care which includes: pet sitting, pet nutrition, pet psychology, canine communication, dog training, dog grooming and pet first aid.
Dog Boarding in my home: I welcome dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds. I have a big backyard for playtime and fresh air. Your dog will be treated with so much love and respect, they will want to keep coming back.
Drop in Visits: (for any type pet) I come to your home to care for your pets for a set duration of time (20 minutes, 30 minutes or 60 minutes). During each visit I will follow the care plan set up for each pet. Care plans include but not limited to feeding, cleaning cages or litter boxes, potty breaks or walks for dogs, playtime or exercise.
Dog Daycare in my home: typically 8-10 hours per day, although shorter sessions are available. I provide fresh water, treats, lots of playtime, exercise and cuddles. Your dog may or not have other dogs to play with, depending on the day. If your dog isn’t very sociable or has aggression issues, an additional fee may be added if separation from other dogs is necessary or if the dog needs to be booked as a solo instead of with a group. Drop off is between 8:00-10:00AM and pick up between 4:00-6:00PM, any request earlier than drop off or later than pick up time will need to be discussed prior to the booking and only approved on a case by case basis.
PLEASE NOTE: I'm not a show dog groomer
I provide basic grooming for dogs most breeds and sizes.
(Each session is based on your dogs needs to include bath, brush out, blow out, nails trimmed, teeth cleaned and simple cuts, using a variety of scissors or clippers) I am still learning all the various breed specialty cuts and would welcome the practice to become more experienced.
