The therapists at Lake Travis Counseling Connection are lovers of all furry friends and understand how the attachments we form to our pets last beyond their lifetimes and throughout our own. They truly are family members and because of their unconditional love, many people feel that their pet(s) love and understand them more than the humans in their lives. When you experience the loss of a pet often others don't understand that the grief you experience is just as painful as the grief experienced with other major losses, whether it be divorce or loss of a loved one. We hope to be there for our clients to help them through this difficult process through validating their experience and "being there" with them as they learn to cope with life after the death of their cherished furry friend.
