I've been working with animals all my life. I worked with horses right out of college. I volunteered at the National Zoo for 11 years. I started working for a veterinarian in 1998. I've had 10 years as a vet tech. I have volunteered with an animal rescue since 2002.

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?

Learn as much about the species that you have as possible.
