Basic Bird Pet First Aid Training - Nationwide
Avian best friends come in many species and sizes and can live from 5 to 80 years! They can catch a common cold FROM us as well as share Psittacosis WITH us. In this 75-minute self-guided journey, Denise Fleck (The Pet Safety Crusader) takes you through the steps you must take if something is not quite right with your feathered friend. She will discuss normal Vitals as well as signs indicating various illnesses in your bird.
Topics Include:
Checking Vitals
What to do for: Attacks by another animal, Broken Blood Feathers, Bleeding Tongue, Breathing Difficulties, Burns, Dehydration, Diarrhea, Poisoning, Regurgitation/Vomiting, Shock and Straining
What Items to Have in Your Bird’s First Aid Kit
This class is recommended by Pet Sitters International and applies towards CEU Credits.
Certificate of class completion will be emailed as a pdf for printing upon successful completion (80% or above) of 30 questions multiple-choice/true-false test. If your score is lower than 80%, I’d be happy to set up a time to go over any questions you have before retaking the test which you may do once at no charge. After that, it will be an additional $15 fee to extend the videos to you for another 30 days and retest. Refunds are not available once links have been sent.
“Basic Bird First Aid” is a handy guide that will provide you with the 4-1-1 you need to know to help your avian friends. This book contains additional information and first aid care beyond the scope of the class so it is sure to become your go-to guide when your bird needs you most!
